Renee Zellweger is one of Hollywood’s leading actresses and started her career back in 1992. She appeared in some cult classics like “Dazed and Confused” in 1993, “Reality Bites” in 1994, and “Empire Records” in 1995 but her true breakout performance came in 1996 when she played Dorothy Boyd in Jerry Maguire, starring Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jr.
After a few years of experimenting with a number of roles with limited success, she once again emerged in 2001 with “Bridget Jones’s Diary” that landed her an Oscar Nomination for Best Actress. A year later she was nominated again for her role in the hit musical “Chicago” but failed to take home the gold. But her streak would continue when the next year she was once again nominated, and this time won, for her supporting role in “Cold Mountain”, starring Nicole Kidman (ironically Tom Cruise’s ex-wife).
In 2005 Renee played Mae Braddock in the epic sports drama “Cinderella Man”. Though she did not get an Oscar nomination for the role, she received critical acclaim for her performance.
