Amy Winehouse has been denied by the U.S. Embassy from entering into the U.S. and will not be able to attend the Grammy awards, which will take place February 10th in Los Angeles, CA.
Amy’s reps explained why she cannot travel to America saying, “Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London. Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and, although disappointed with the decision, has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.”
Amy’s father Mitch was worried that her involvement with drugs will be the cause of her visa being denied.
A source close to the family says, “Amy’s first week in rehab was touch-and-go; there was a lot of screaming and swearing on her part. But we are happy to say Mitch is over the moon with Amy and so proud at how she is responding to rehab.”
She has been nominated for six Grammys, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist.
