Celine Dion Vegas Show EndsSorry to disappoint, but there will be no more Celine Dion performances in Las Vegas. She took her final bows at Caesars Palace after Saturday night’s show.

In between her usual numbers she spoke to the audience with tear-filled monologues.

“At one point, it was like feeling like the Titanic was about to sink again,” she said. “But we believed and we went on with it. Even though the vibe was not that positive for us.”

Dion’s show had many ups and downs, including pregnancy and poor early reviews.

While the show was still in it’s beginning stages in 2000, Celine, 39, became pregnant. She told her husband and manager Rene Angelil that she did not want to go through with the show. But he told her that too much was at stake to quit and the show must go on.

The Colosseum in Caesar’s Palace cost $95 million to build and her initial three-year $100 million contract broke records for a live entertainer.

Since opening in March 2003, Dion’s show, “A New Day” grossed more than $400 million and was seen by over 3 million fans. Tickets for her final show were selling on Ebay for as much as $1,899.

The Colosseum will not be vacant after Celine departs. Bette Midler’s “The Showgirl Must Go On” will open February 20, 2008.

Dion will get right back to work starting her tour Valentine’s Day 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
