I’m not sure how I feel about Dakota Fanning playing the part of Jane in the next installment of the Twilight series ‘New Moon’. On one hand she would be perfect, but on the other hand I’m not a fan. Maybe this next roll of her as a young vampire slayer will change my mind.
For a little background info, Jane is part of the Volturi, the oldest and most powerful clan of vampires living in Italy. Jane’s character is described as having “Botticelli angel-like face…[and] crimson irises.” Fellow members of the Volturi are described as “three times the size of her, [but] they are terrified of her.”
Dakota Fanning was a shoe-in for this role. “There were no auditions,” according to E!’s source. “They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth.”
It’s not in the bag yet. They are still auditioning other possible “Jane’s”. Another teen star, Vanessa Hudgens auditioned for the part of Leah Clearwater.
