It is rumored that comedian Ellen DeGeneres will marry Australian actress Portia de Rossi this weekend in California in an intimate ceremony attended by only a few close friends and family members.
Recently the California Supreme Court ruled same sex marriages legal and Ellen DeGeneres announced on her talkshow in May that she would marry girlfriend of 4 years Portia de Rossi.
“It’s something that we’ve wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited,” DeGeneres, 50, said at the time.
“I feel like I found my perfect fit,” DeGeneres said of Portia de Rossi in an interview with the Advocate.
“She’s taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I’ve taught her.”
Portia de Rossi’s real name is Amanda Lee Rogers, but took on her current name when she was 15. She appeared in the Australian movie Sirens with Elle Macpherson, but came to the U.S. in 1997 to join the cast of Ally McBeal. She is most recently known for her role as Lindsay Bluth Fünke in the critically acclaimed comedy Arrested Development.
