American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were found shot to death in her Chicago home Friday afternoon. Her mother, Darnell Hudson, 57, and brother Jason, were discovered to have “sustained fatal gunshot wounds” by a cousin.
“Officers responded to a call of two people found unresponsive,” Chicago Police Department spokesman John Mirabelli tells Usmagazine.com.
“Right now, our investigation is a double homicide,” the spokesman tells Us. “We understand family members are on the scene.”
Jennifer Hudson is very close with her family and includes liner notes to them in her self-titled debut album which released this September. She writes:
