I don’t have this handy little device, but I’m tempted to get one. It’s the GoWear fit, an armband that you wear during the day to figure out how many calories you’re really burning. Most of us under estimate the amount of calories we consume and over estimate our activity level, so this personalized system will turn “your body’s everyday information into a tool to help you manage your health.”
The GoWear fit multi-sensor armband measures:
- Calorie burn
- Physical activity
- Steps taken
- Sleep duration
- Sleep efficiency
It then takes this information and uploads it to their Online Activity Manager, which is subscription based. Hey, they gotta make money somehow, right? Here you will be able to see your:
- daily caloric expenditure
- daily caloric intake - based on a nutritional tool with more than 30,000 foods to choose from
- calorie balance
- total physical activity (sedentary, moderate and vigorous)
- total steps taken
- sleep duration and efficiency
Check out their website for cost info.
If you own a GoWear fit armband let me know what you think!
