Bored with your regular old yoga classes and willing to try something new? Check out a few of the hot new trends in yoga this year.

AntiGravity Yoga

Cirque du Soleil meets yoga in an AntiGravity Yoga class. Stretching and holding poses from a suspended flowing fabric hammock, like a soft trapeze. You’ll learn inverted poses to help relieve compressed joints and align the body.

Iron Yoga

Where body sculpting meets power yoga. A full body 60 minute workout using 2-5 pound dumbbells for the upper body while performing a series of power yoga poses for the core and lower body. So think warrior two with a bicep curl and shoulder raise.

Sounds like a good idea since yoga doesn’t hit the arm muscles the same way weights can, but certainly not good for someone who is new to yoga or has not mastered power yoga on its own.

Hip Hop Yoga

Where Jay Z meets downward dog. A high energy flowing yoga class with loud music to rock out to. Not your soothing and relaxing yoga class. At YogaHop in Santa Monica, CA they have two yoga rooms labeled “East Coast” and “West Coast”. Werd.
