Wake up you lazy sleepyhead! No time for breakfast? No problem! The next time you go to the store check out the refrigerated section and you might find Organic Batter Blaster, The Original Pancake and Waffle Batter that comes in a pressurized can, (think whipped cream).

I’ve tried this stuff during Thanksgiving when I was visiting my parents, and I have to say that the pancake mix is pretty tasty. What I love about this why-didn’t-I-think-of-this invention is that 1. it’s organic, 2. there is absolutely no mess, 3. it’s super easy to use, and 4. it’s perfect for the morning rush, especially if you have kids.

I like to make my pancakes with coconut oil and when they’re done top them with a bit of butter and perhaps a little powdered sugar. You can also easily add fresh blueberries or chocolate chips while cooking.

Here are the ingredients and FAQ’s:

Ingredients:

  • Filtered water
  • Organic wheat flour (unbleached)
  • Organic cane sugar
  • Organic whole egg solids
  • Organic soybean powder
  • Sodium lactate (lactic acid from beet sugar)
  • DiCalcium phosphate (leavening agent)
  • Sea salt
  • Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
  • Organic rice bran extract

Allergens: contains wheat, eggs, soy

Q: Do I need to refrigerate Batter Blaster?
A: Yes! Batter Blaster is a refrigerated product to maintain maximum shelf life. Shelf life is printed on the bottom of the can.

Q: Can the can/packaging be recycled?
A: Yes, the plastic caps and tips are both recyclable, as is the steel can.

Q: What is the best way to cook pancakes?
A: Prepare your skillet on medium-high heat, or turn your electric griddle to 375-degrees for about 5 minutes.

Q: Do I need to grease my pan/griddle/waffle iron with butter or oil?
A: Yes, we recommend a light coating of vegetable oil or cooking spray, even if you’re using a non-stick surface.

Q: How do I know when to flip/turn my pancakes?
A: Pancakes will be ready to flip/turn when they have slightly risen, and bubbles appear in the batter. The edges will also appear to have formed a golden brown base. Flip the pancakes over and continue to cook them until the under side is golden brown. Remember to flip pancakes only once, as repeated flips will toughen their texture.

Oodora, I use coconut oil too!. Last weekend I made my own syrup with the coconut oil, some sugar, cinnamon, and a mashed up banana. I topped the pancakes off with some fresh strawberries and bluberries!
      Gotta give it a try!
