Marijuana Vending MachinesLos Angeles will be the first to introduce 24-hour medical marijuana vending machines.

Inventor and owner of Herbal Nutrition Center, Vincent Mehdizadeh, allows patients who use marijuana to ease chronic pain, loss of appetite and other ailments, to get their pot with ease and convenience.

He has spent seven months developing and patenting the black, armored box which he calls the “PVM”, or prescription vending machine.

When you arrive, you will find tinted windows, a security guard and poster of Bob Marley decorating the room. Each patient is assigned a prepaid magnetic card. The computerized machine also requires fingerprint identification to access the pot.

Any person approved for medical marijuana and registered in the computer database can use his machine for prescription pick-up at their convenience.

Mehdizadeh consulted doctors, and decided to limit the amount of marijuana per user to an ounce per week. Each purchase from the machine yields 1/8th or 2/8th of an ounce. The vending machine also lowers the average price about $20.

The Drug Enforcement Agency has been shutting down major medical marijuana dispensaries throughout California and charging their operations with felony distribution charges. The Herbal Nutrition Center has been targeted, but no arrest or charges have been filed.
