Organic Wear MakeupAgain, I was super excited when Physician’s Formula came out with an entirely organic line of mineral makeup called Organic Wear – sorry Bare Escentuals, I still love you, though. I’m a concerned consumer when it comes to what I put onto my skin. After all your skin is your largest organ and will suck up whatever you apply to it, so why wouldn’t you use anything but the purest products out there?

So far I’ve only used the loose translucent powder and the Shimmer Strips Customer Bronzer, Blush and Eye Shadow — which is not 100% organic, but part of their previous line. Forget the scratchy brush that comes with the Organic Wear powder and stick with a softer brush with a longer handle, like those from ecoTOOLS, whose handles are made of bamboo, bristles are animal-free, and the metal that holds it all together is made from recycled aluminum cans (about $7.99 for a powder brush). Physician’s Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Loose Powder costs $13.95, and Bronzing Powder Strips $11.95 at Target.

Why you should buy Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Make Up:

  • 100% Free of Harsh Chemicals.
  • 100% Free of Synthetic Preservatives.
  • 100% Free of Parabens.
  • 100% Free of GMO’s.
  • 100% Free of Synthetic Colors.
  • 100% Free of Synthetic Fragrances.
  • 100% Cruelty Free.

Hey. I love this stuff, but it’s not mineral makeup. It’s just 100% organic, and I believe it’s based on soy powder.

Thanks for the comment! Actually, the very first ingredient in Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Make Up is MICA, which is a group of silicate minerals and the second ingredient is MAGNESIUM STEARATE, which is also a mineral.

Here is the full list of ingredients:

MICA, MAGNESIUM STEARATE, ZEA MAYS (CORN) STARCH*, CALCIUM CARBONATE, KAOLIN, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS (SAFFLOWER) SEED OIL, GLYCERIN, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL*, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL*, ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) HULL POWDER, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL*, CINNAMIC ACID, CITRUS GRANDIS (GRAPEFRUIT) FRUIT EXTRACT, SODIUM LEVULINATE, TOCOPHEROL, WATER. MAY CONTAIN: IRON OXIDES, TITANIUM DIOXIDE. *PRODUCED FROM ORGANIC FARMING

Unfortunatley I have been looking and recently purchased ZUZU makeup – I have now found that most if not all make up including Organic contains TITANIUM DIOXIDE, which they are now saying is a carcinogen.

  4. Very Happy Face says:

I love this make up it is so gentle and smells nice. I have horrible skin that breaks out almost immediately after applying makeup and have tried bare minerals, clinique, glo minerals, and many others and have broken out and hated all of them. I love this and it looks natural and my husband loves the way my face too.

I snuck into priceline y’day and needed makeup before work
i have pretty bad acne & oily skin
Tried the loose powder with a small amount of bronzer (im asian btw,)
and OMG it made my skin look so much healthier and i didn’t need much to cover my acne prone skin. Its now the morning after and my skin hasn’t had a breakout
woot!..now im off 2 buy it, thoroughly very impressed

i’ve tried (done a 2 week test on each product) : maybelline mineral, bare essentials, the body shop minerals, glo minerals, youngblood cosmetics mineral, nude minerals = verdict. not impressed. face was either too shiny, tooo oily looking and i had breakouts like crazy
