There’s been a lot of buzz about this new frozen yogurt franchise in the California and New York area called Pink Berry.
I haven’t tried it yet, but they are opening a new one close by, so I’ll have to give you my verdict later.
Anyhow, the word on the street is that Pink Berry’s not all that fabulous. They have two flavors - plain (which I think means vanilla) and green tea, plus 18 different toppings, including Captain Crunch, mango and Fruity Pebbles. You can also try one of their smoothies or shaved ice with the same two flavors.
Their claim to fame is that they do not use artificial sugars, gluten or gelatin.
- 1/2 cup of their plain yogurt is 70 calories, 0 grams fat, 14 grams carbohydrates, and 3 grams protein
- 1/2 cup of their green tea yogurt is 50 calories, 10 grams carbohydrates, and 3 grams protein
They don’t have artificial sugars, but they do have artificial colors. Which doesn’t make sense to me because milk is white and so is the plain flavor; and green tea is naturally green…
