I’m not going brag and say my guacamole recipe is great. It’s THE best guacamole recipe you have ever tasted and it’s super easy to whip up. They key to an amazing guacamole dip is the type of avocado you use. I recommend using a Reed avocado, which are large and round, have thin green skin and are available during the summer and early fall months. I made this recipe yesterday with Reed avocados and then made the same exact recipe with small Haas avocados and it paled in comparison to the recipe made with the Reeds. I also suggest using fresh and organic produce when available. Here’s my easy guacamole recipe.
- 2 ripe Reed avocados
- 1 garlic clove, smashed
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 4 baby roma tomatoes
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and diced (use gloves when handling)
- small handful of fresh cilantro
- juice of 1 lime
- sea salt to taste
Put all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until you’ve reached desired consistency. Serve with tortilla chips, pita or veggies.
