- 1/2 cup crunchy-style peanut butter
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 6 oz package chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Beat throughly peanut butter, shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop batter 2 inches apart onto baking stone or cookie sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from baking stone or cookie sheet.
