• 1 1/2 cups applesauce
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 Tbs cinnamon
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 pinches salt

Optional Frosting:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 Tbs water
  • sifted powdered sugar

Combine all ingredients. Roll out to 1 inch thickness on waxed paper, wrap and chill dough overnight.

Flour your surface, unwrap dough, flour the top, and roll it out until about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 425 degrees for 7-8 minutes. Cool completely before icing.

If using frosting: Combine egg white, water and sifted powdered sugar until you reach the right consistency.
