• 1 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar

Mix sugar and butter. Add the egg and vanilla mixing thoroughly. In a separate bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Blend into butter mixture. Cover and refrigerate dough 2 to 3 hours.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Divide dough in half and roll 3/16 inch thick on floured surface. Cut dough with cookie cutter and sprinkle with sugar. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake 7 to 8 minutes or until delicately golden.
