My new favorite addiction is Kettle Corn. It’s that sweet and salty popcorn you get at the fair, or in my case a recent trip to Disneyland. The wafting caramel-y smell will stop anyone in their tracks. Here is the best kettle corn recipe that you can make at home. The ingredients are for one batch but you may need to make two because you’ll end up eating the first one right after you make it.
Kettle Corn Ingredients
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp. coarse salt
In a wide, heavy-bottom stainless steel pot with a tight-fitting lid, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Test your oil by placing 3 kernels in the oil. If they pop, then you know your oil is hot enough to start. When ready add the popcorn. When the oil sizzles, sprinkle the sugar over the kernels. Cover and shake the pan until the popping slows down (about 3 minutes). You can alternate between leaving the pan on the heat for a few seconds and then lifting it off while you shake, that way you do not burn the kettle corn. Finally, remove from the heat and toss with the salt. It’s so good you’ll want to eat the whole batch!

i tried to make this kettle corn recipe, i had only put the oil in and i literally set my pan on fire like it really BURST into flames while i was holding it running around. So i chucked it outside in the rain. After it stopped smoking i brought it back inside, cleaned off all the black, and tried making it again. luckily this time everything turned out fine! i made the kettle corn successfully and it is true this is the best kettle corn my mother said it was best she ever had i even brought some over to my sister in laws and same thing ” the BEST kettle corn she ever had!”
