124lb Giant Blue Catfish

This 124-pound giant blue catfish was hooked on the Mississippi River near Alton. The fish is 58 inches long and 44 inches around. I believe it was caught on May 25th, 2005.

    I live on the Mississippi. My grandpa told me stories about fish big enough to swallow a man whole living at the bottom of the river. He was part of the crew that built the RR bridge at Quincy in the 1920’s or 30’s. The crew witnessed them when diving.
