The annoyingly famous “It’s a Small World” attraction at Anaheim’s Disneyland plans to shut down for a few months to deal with the problem of bottoming out boats.

It’s Definitely Not a Small WorldAnd you thought it was because the song drives everyone into insanity.

Nope, it’s because people are heavier than when the ride was build way back in 1966 causing the boats to get stuck at the Canadian Mounties and the Scandinavian geese.

When the boats bottom out they have to send someone over to pull a few people off to lighten the load. They’ve even built a platform next to these areas.

Disneyland plans to close the attraction for 10 months starting in January 2008 while they build more buoyant boats and add an inch of water to the channel.

Disney would not want to offend anyone or say they are too fat to ride the flumes, so in return for them leaving early they give them nothing other than food tickets!

Doesn’t that perpetuate the fatness?

As if they weren’t fat enough in another 40 years they will have to close the ride again because they are “feeding” into the problem.

Disneyland should know this: It’s not a small world after all.
