If you are around me you know I love animals and nature; I even go to an animal park every year on my birthday, so when I got these stunning photos via email I had to share. They are all astonishing and some even look like they were taken from a sci-fi movie. It’s hard to pick my favorite - maybe the last one of the dancing snowy egrets, which happens to look more like a painting than a photograph, but the baby penguin and sea lion are pretty darn irresistible, too.

The annual Windland Smith Rice International Awards celebrate the creme de la creme of nature photography and create public awareness of conservation through this visual medium. Operating in partnership with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC, the category Winners and selected Highly Honored photographs are exhibited annually to millions of Museum visitors.

These photographs are very inspirational and motivating for me to keep my creative eye on track and my love of traveling on the front burner.
