Many of you may not know that I live at the beach in Southern California. Though the summer has brought some beautiful days, you might be surprised to know that the most beautiful and clear ocean views have emerged this winter. There are some days that you can see Catalina Island so clearly that some of the trees and rocks are visible with the naked eye.

A few hours ago I saw the most amazing beach sunset that changed four different colors in a matter of minutes. It was slightly cloudy but that added to the great texture of the sky. Starting with a blue and yellow sunset then the sky turned purple, red, and a beautiful orange. Ok, enough of the explanation. Why don’t I just show you. I’ve been playing with my new Cannon Powershot SD870, and have been impressed with the clarity, image stabilization, and many of the other cool settings.
