The New York City eatery, Serendipity 3, is serving up a $25,000 frozen dessert consisting of high grade cocoa, edible gold and shavings of a rare truffle.
The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate dessert is now the priciest dessert in the world according to the Guinness World Records.
So what’s in this dessert anyway? It’s a frozen mix of cocoas from 14 countries, milk and 5 grams of 24-carat gold topped with fresh whipped cream and shavings from a La Madeline au Truffle.
“La Madeline au Truffle” costs about $2600 per pound. It is made of 70% Valrhone cacao, which is blended into a creamy ganache with truffle oil, and hidden inside is a French black truffle. The truffle is then dusted with cocoa powder. This is some of the most expensive chocolate in the world!
When you are finished with your $25,000 dessert you get to keep the golden spoon it came with.
