How to Get Six Pack Abs With Proper Diet and Exercise: Part 3
Posted by: Oodora in Fat Loss and CellulitePart 3: Starting a Food Journal and Eating More Greens
Now that you’re eating a healthier breakfast and drinking more water let’s start keeping a food journal. Without judgments or criticism, write down everything you eat and drink and the times. Do this for a week and then review it. Where can you clean up your diet? Are you eating/drinking empty calories? You’ll be surprised at what you find.
Writing in a food journal will keep you accountable for your food intake and will also help you stay on track because you are logging it on paper. Many people who have lost weight find that keeping a food journal is the way to go.
Now on to my next trick: eating more greens. I don’t know many people who enjoy eating green vegetables and by greens I mean the leafy kinds. Sometimes we need to be sneaky. If you have children then you know what I’m talking about.
The smoothie in Part 2 is good way to get your greens because they are blended with fruit and it’s far easier to drink your greens then to chew them one leaf at a time. I like to eat some sort of raw green vegetable with every meal. I keep a bag of organic baby spinach in the fridge at all times. That is my go-to leafy green vegetable. When cooking at home, whether it be my morning eggs, fish for lunch or chicken for dinner I always put the spinach on my plate first and then my protein right on top. If you get sick of spinach, or want to be more daring try baby arugula, kale or green collards (they are less bitter than swiss chard). Lettuce works, too, but it’s not as nutritionally dense as the darker green veggies. Aim to stick with the darker greens.
I’ll add more sneaky green recipes soon…
