First it was the spinoff of 90210 and with it’s successful debut CW and CBS Paramount Network TV want to put together a spinoff of Melrose Place. The new 90210 has brought huge numbers in ratings with women between 18-34 age group and brought back alums Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty for a few episodes.
Plans for the show are still in the early stages. Casting and story lines have not yet been determined, and will probably not hit the small screen until the 2009-2010 season. It’s likely they will bring back a few Melrose Place alums as well.
The original Melrose Place first aired in 1992 and ran for seven seasons. It’s most famous residents included Heather Locklear, Marcia Cross, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Andrew Shue, Grant Show, Alyssa Milano, Doug Savant, Jack Wagner, Daphne Zuniga, Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bisset, Rob Estes and Kelly Rutherford. Rob Estes now stars on the new 90210 and Kelly Rutherford has found success on Gossip Girl.
