“Hey Daddy! I wanna star in The Karate Kid movie. Can you make that happen?”
Sure, if you’re Jaden Smith and your dad just so happens to be big Willy (Will Smith) with big money to spend and major pull in Hollywood.
Will Smith is set to produce the remake of The Karate Kid with Jerry Weintraub who produced the original. Will’s son, Jaden Smith, will play a bullied kid who will learn the ropes to becoming the next karate kid. Chris Murphy will write the script to including some throw backs to the original, but taking the locations to more exotic locales like the far east.
Jaden Smith is just another childhood actor we get to watch grow up on the big screen. He first showed us his acting chops alongside his dad in The Pursuit of Happiness. His next movie appearance will be opposite Keanu Reeves in The Day the Earth Stood Still, due out December 2008.
